Moon Somatics is guided by Roya, a Somatic Practitioner and initiated Diviner.

Roya brings over two decades of study and practice in somatics, embodiment, bodywork, ritual, and healing arts. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a Somatic Specialization from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and her background includes Ortho-Bionomy®, massage therapy, trauma-informed somatic practice, relational psychotherapy, ritual arts, and ancestral healing.

This work is held with care, humility, and respect for each person’s body, identity, lineage, lived experience, and pace. At Moon Somatics, healing is approached through deep listening, relationship, and the belief that change does not need to be forced.

A Grounded Space for Body-Based Healing and Spiritual Listening

Somatic Healing invites us to listen differently. Rather than trying to think our way through everything, we slow down and notice what the body, emotions, nervous system, intuition, memory, relationship, and spirit may be communicating.

In session, we may work with grounding, sensation, reflection, movement, creative process, divination, ritual, ancestral connection, or relational exploration. The work is guided, but never forced. You are invited to stay connected to your own pace, agency, and sense of what feels right.

You do not need a perfect story, a clear goal, or certainty about what you believe. We begin with what is present.

“We do not always allow ourselves to work through pain. More often than not, we think pain is a signal that we must stop, rather than find its source. Our souls do not like stagnation. Our souls aspire toward growth, that is, toward remembering all that we have forgotten due to our trip to this place, the earth. In this context, a body in pain is a soul in longing.”

Trauma-Informed, Culturally Responsive Healing Arts

Healing does not happen in isolation. Our bodies, spirits, nervous systems, and sense of self are shaped by relationships, culture, ancestry, land, systems, and community.

Moon Somatics is rooted in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and relational care. Sessions are guided with attention to consent, pacing, collaboration, and respect for your lived experience.

There is no expectation to perform healing, rush insight, or move faster than your body is ready for.

We begin where you are and listen for what is ready to emerge.
